Look! Look at my door! Look at my strange hex-faced child!
August 25th, 2006
Dream, meet Reality. Reality, stop snickering at the dog scratches in the fresh paint.

Painted by David the Canadian Stud. Same old door, but oh-so-very-much better.
No, it’s not cranberry, is it. I think this is even better. Carnival Red High-Gloss Alkyd Enamel. I swoon daily. I want to lick it. But I don’t. But the children do, and that’s why they cover their faces with Pennsylvania Dutch hex signs.

Do you think that will work on a front porch? Our new house has a red front porch and red door that IMO need repainting (to me it’s like marking your territory- claiming this as my own by repainting).

The entire front porch and front of house received a make-over. I hope Jenn will share more photos with you all soon.
The red door is a beautiful accent to the porch and was a thoughtful alternative to my projected gift. Kids wanted to save me some money towards my moving expenses.
David’s solution did the trick!

Wow. Your daughter has her Halloween costume picked out already.
“Raar!!!! I’m a cheesy piece of folk art!!! I’m coming to clutter up the wall above your workbench!!!”

I couldn’t help but notice that the hex sign your daughter is wearing is the one for…. fertility.
17. the Mater | August 27th, 2006 at 7:30 pm
Fertility … I think Jenn was thinking “abundance” but maybe a pineapple for hospitality will be safer, eh?!
18. Andrea | August 27th, 2006 at 8:07 pm
You finally got it! Awesome.

As Dolly Parton said in Steel Magnolias:
“I think I’ll paint my door red and change my name to Elizabeth Arden!”
It looks truly fabulous. David the Canadian Stud rocks.

I really like the fertility sign, you can keep the neighborhood daycare in business!
Speaking of business, The Mater is up to monkey business with some of the N. A. men !

Now now Barb - don’t give my secrets away. I don’t want to set the world on fire, I just want to manage the smoke alarms in my apartment :>)
Now the hex sign - that’s some mighty strong feng shui. As long as it stays on your side of the fence!
